HOLY COMMUNION:- St. Paul's United Church Of Christ practices 'open communion,' meaning that if you are a baptized beliver you are invited to partake. Please note that the inner ring of the wine tray contains grape juice. The two outer rings contain wine.

ALTAR FLOWERS:- If you would like to see flowers on our altar on Sunday morning the cost is $15.00 for the flowers. Please call the Church Office(847-741-7922).

SUNDAY, JANUARY 4, 2009:- Holy Communion will be served. Please bring non-perishable items for the Food Pantry.

COUNCIL:- The Council meets Thursday, January 8 at 7 p.m..


The mitten tree is up and awaiting hats, gloves, and scarves for those who have been negatively impacted by economic circumstances.

PRAYER & BIBLE STUDY:- The Wednesday mornng Prayer & Bible Study group meets on Wednesday,at 10 a.m.in the Chapel. "The Portraits of Christ as Portrayed in the Gospel According to John" is our topic. The Gospel writer portrays a different aspect of the character and ministry of Jesus in each chapter. Stop by the church office at any time to pick up the outline we will follow. The next session will be on Wednesday, January 6.

INTERFAITH PANTRY:- On the first Sunday of each month, January 4, 2009, Non-perishable items are collected for the InterFaith Pantry of Elgin. Here are some needed items: Canned soups, fruits and vegetables, pasta sauces, meats and tuna, pasta and rice, cold and hot cerials, peanut butter and jelly, cake and pancake mixes. Personal items, such as soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, shampoo, deodorant, lip balm, cough drops, baby diapers, baby food, and paper products of all kind. Thank You!

PADS:- is in need of the following:Sugar substitute packets, Peanut Butter, Coffee, Foam Cereal Bowls, Plastic Spoons & Forks, Napkins, Laundry Soap - Powder (They have enought liquid), Sugar Packets, Jam or Jelly, Creamer,Bulk Sugar, Foam or paper luncheon plates, Toilet Paper, Flip Flops - Small/Med./Lg. paper towels and toilet tissue. There is a box located in Fellowship Hall to receive donations.

St Paul's has a fund raiser/recycling program with Fox Valley Lutheran Academy, and St. John's Lutheran Church.

NO CARDBOARD, PHONE BOOKS, PLASTIC, GLASS, METALS OR TRASH, PLEASE!!!! Please deposite in the container located in our parking lot.

COFFEE HOUR:- Volunteers are needed for Coffee Hour. It is a great time for fellowship. Contact Corrine Eicksteadt or Janet Werner.

If you have recently moved or will be away from your home for a period of time, please notify the Church Office. Help us cut down on the cost of undelivered mail.

Sign up sheet for PADS is in the Narthex. Volunteers are needed for the first Tuesday of every month.

The Youth Group has decorated a garbage can to store all the collected pop tabs. So please save your pop can tabs, and bring them to church on Sunday morning.

Arts and Crafts! Do you knit, crochet, or do handwork? Come and join us at the Knitting Ministry to chat and learn. All are welcome. Come and bring a friend! The Knitting Ministry meets every other Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. in the Chapel. The next meeting is January 6, 2009 in the Chapel.



There is a Coffee Hour today.
If you would like to volunteer for Coffee Hour, please sign the 'Coffee Hour' sheet located in the Narthex.
